The idea for The World Traveller Gift Shoppe materialized on one of  owner Lisa Van Valkenburgh’s many trips to Europe. While drifting in and out of the shops in Paris, London, Dublin, Prague and other European cities, Lisa thought that it would be such a great idea to share the beautiful gifts she saw in these shops with the visitors & residents of the Oregon Coast. Those who can’t travel, don’t want to travel, or just don’t have the time to travel can enjoy the experience of shopping in Europe, without having to get a passport! All you have to do is step through the doors of The World Traveller. A proud member of the North American Celtic Buyers Association, The World Traveller has a great selection of gifts from the Celtic World, in addition to the other gifts from and inspired by Europe and travelling!

A resident of Yachats, Oregon since 1996, Lisa Van Valkenburgh spent her early career in the entertainment industry before moving to London, England for 6 months in 1992 and ending up on the Oregon Coast in early 1993. European travel has always been her passion ever since her first trip to London in the 1980’s. Lisa makes at least one trip to Europe each calendar year, and sometimes more! She loves talking about travel to everyone who comes into the shop, sharing experiences and travel tips.
